đŠ Henriette & Olga: artisanal ice cream and homemade pastries in Saint-Pierre
Atmosphere & decor: the workshop where everything is made before your eyes
At 25 rue du Pas-Saint-Georges, 33000 Bordeaux, just a stone's throw from Sainte-Catherine in the heart of the Saint-Pierre neighborhood. Henriette & Olga is a bright workshop-boutique run by two friends, Christophe and Dimitri. The name comes from their grandmothers. The concept: homemade products, zero compromise on quality, and a glass lab where Dimitri prepares everything before your eyes. The place is warm and well-maintained, you feel comfortable there right away.
At the counter: award-winning ice creams, cookies and homemade sweets
Everything is made on-site with carefully selected local producers: Hasnaa chocolate, Piha coffee, hazelnuts from Mathieu Martinet, vanilla from Authentic Products. The ice creams and sorbets change with the seasons, and the establishment was voted among the 6 best ice cream parlors in France (Académie du Goût) and the 12 best in France and Belgium (Le Fooding).
But Henriette & Olga goes far beyond ice creams: cookies (three varieties, all addictive), fluffy waffles, XXL profiteroles, French toast, customizable ice-cream sandwiches. Our reflex: the Affogato, a strong espresso over a scoop of ice cream.
For whom?
Sweet tooths who want real artisanal products far from chains, a snack with family or friends in a welcoming setting, and curious people who like to watch an artisan work directly. It's not a restaurant: here you come for sweets, period.
Verdict: the icy alternative in Saint-Pierre
If Gelato e Basta is your reference on Cours Pasteur, Henriette & Olga is the solution when you're in Saint-Pierre. With the bonus of a menu much broader than just ice creams. My advice: come on a weekday in early afternoon to enjoy the place peacefully. On Friday and Saturday it's open until 11pm, perfect after a stroll in the neighborhood.
